We are the only insurance company specifically created to manage and provide Compulsory Liability Insurance in Puerto Rico, better known as “compulsory insurance.” You can purchase it for the first time when you renew your car inspection sticker at the Treasury Department tax collection centers, official inspection stations, banks, cooperatives and Ventanilla Unica municipal centers authorized to sell car inspection stickers.
We at ASC have the longest trajectory, most experience, knowledge, accessibility, technology and service to provide this type of insurance. We also manage the compulsory liability insurance you acquire when paying for the motor vehicle license issuing fee or license renewal.
To process your claim or to report an accident, you don’t have to visit a Service Center anymore! You can now submit your entire claim by phone or Internet.   • 1995

    The Compulsory Liability Insurance and the ASC were created by Public Law No. 254.

  • 1998

    The ASC began operations and compulsory insurance entered into effect.

  • 2000

    Processes were mechanized to handle a high volume of claims rapidly.

  • 2004

    An important process transformation took place, integrating new technology and applications. Claim processes are managed completely in the Service Centers and claim payments are sent to customers within 48 hours, once all requirements have been completed.

  • 2010

    The compulsory insurance coverage increased from $3,000 to $4,000 and the repairs incentive from $60 to $100 without increasing the premium cost for the insured.

    We obtained more benefits for our insured as a result of ASC’s efficient management of the compulsory insurance premiums.

  • 2012

    ASC introduces an agile and simple claims processing system making it convenient for our customers to file their claims over the Internet 24/7 or by telephone.

  • 2013

    Call Center operation hours of service are extended: Monday to Friday until 6:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

  • 2014

    Claim processes for clients and claimants are expedited. Same day payment is incorporated, effective as soon as the claims process is completed.

  • 2015

    ASC unveils a new image and corporate identity.

  • 2016

    ASC launches a new 100% online service for claim processing. Clients and claimants can attach photos, download and upload documents, submit estimates of the repair, as well as receive service and support 24/7.

    A tutorial video is available on how to submit an online claim with ASC, also translated into sign language.

    ASC provides the free mobile app “ASC Tu Compulsorio”, available through the App Store for iPhone and Play Store for Android. An ASC Service Center at your fingertips.

  • 2018

    ASC celebrates 20 years of service as a Puerto Rican company that provides and administrates compulsory insurance.

    As part of this celebration, ASC developed the advertising campaign called: ASC, 20 years answering for you and yours. With this effort, ASC continues to demonstrate its commitment to Puerto Rico being the first company and compulsory insurer to incorporate a sign language interpreter throughout its advertising campaign. This campaign, in addition to publicizing the services and benefits that ASC offers its clients and the community of deaf people on the island, creates awareness among all citizens of the need to integrate this important sector of our population.
